ABOUT JOHN ADAMS ASSOCIATES
JAA offers clients a broad range of public relations services, including traditional and new media strategy and implementation, campaign development, event planning and crisis communications. But it is our sophisticated understanding of how science, the media and public policy converge that sets us apart from other Washington-based firms.
JAA was established in the early 1970s to help American business and industry understand and successfully work with the many new federal agencies created during that period – from the Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Energy to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
With a staff experienced in the ways of federal agencies, Capitol Hill and the private sector, JAA has guided and supported its clients through eight presidential administrations and more than 30 sessions of Congress – one of the longest and most successful records of achievement of any consulting firm in Washington. In that time, JAA has collected an impressive array of achievements. Among them, we:
- Harnessed media and congressional support for major air and water legislation. Clients included Council on Environmental Quality, Ford Foundation, Resources for the Future, associations and corporations.
- Organized successful conferences on national and international energy policies. Clients included the U.S. Senate, major foundations, and think tanks.
- Developed national media and congressional support for funding of asbestos victims, juvenile diabetes, nurse midwives, dyslexia, crime victims.
- Developed and executed award-winning national safety campaign that significantly reduced fireworks injuries.
- Launched long-lived and high-achieving coalitions on environmental, energy and health issues, including Environmental Industry Council, National Council on Fireworks Safety, and the Asbestos Compensation Coalition.
